To serious grill-masters and smokers, it may seem wrong to put a brisket in a slow cooker. But let me tell you, this recipe is delish! It's especially good if you have a smaller brisket that can fit in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 2 cans beef consomme
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1-1/2 cups low sodium soy sauce
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp. liquid smoke
- 4+ lb brisket (smaller fits into a slow cooker better)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Place brisket in a large slow cooker insert. Pour the marinade over the brisket. Cover tightly with saran wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours.
- Remove the saran wrap and place the slow cooker insert into the slow cooker unit. Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook brisket on low for 10-12 hours. When it's done, it should fall apart easily. If it doesn't, let it cook another hour or two.
- The meat has SO much flavor! It will be great on mashed potatoes or on a bun.
