Brisket Marinade for Slow Cooker

Brisket Marinade for Slow Cooker

To serious grill-masters and smokers, it may seem wrong to put a brisket in a slow cooker. But let me tell you, this recipe is delish! It's especially good if you have a smaller brisket that can fit in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans beef consomme
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1-1/2 cups low sodium soy sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 4+ lb brisket (smaller fits into a slow cooker better)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Place brisket in a large slow cooker insert. Pour the marinade over the brisket. Cover tightly with saran wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours.
  2. Remove the saran wrap and place the slow cooker insert into the slow cooker unit. Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook brisket on low for 10-12 hours. When it's done, it should fall apart easily. If it doesn't, let it cook another hour or two.
  3. The meat has SO much flavor! It will be great on mashed potatoes or on a bun.
